Orthopedics

David M. Epperson, M.D., a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, opened Kinetic Spine & Orthopedics in May 2016.

Dr. Epperson received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, after obtaining his bachelor's degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He continued his education with a transitional surgical internship at one of the affiliate hospitals of the Yale University Health System, Griffin Hospital, in Derby, Connecticut. He went on to complete a three year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation through East Carolina University at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. He then decided to obtain a sub-specialty in Interventional Spine and Pain Management by completing a one year fellowship at Non-Surgical Orthopaedics in Marietta, Georgia.

Dr. Epperson is a fellow member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also a member of the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the Florida Medical Association and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Epperson is dedicated to advancing and improving the treatment of both acute and chronic painful medical conditions and sports related injuries. His training as a Physiatrist places him in a unique position to treat all musculoskeletal conditions preventing the need for multiple referrals to different specialists. His focus on treating the patient as a whole maximizes a patient's pain control and leads to improved functional abilities.

Dr. Epperson is a native Floridian, having been raised in the Tampa Bay area. In his spare time he enjoys being on the water, fishing, golfing and spending time with his fiancé and three daughters.

Testimonials

I was involved in a automobile accident and my orthopedic physician referred me to Dr. Epperson. When I met Dr. Epperson for my consultation, I was very happy to find that he was truly interested in my well being, he spent over an hour with me discussing my MRI results, treatment plan and answering all my questions.

I was very happy to see that Dr. Epperson has opened his own office and will be able to provide the personal and professional care that patients deserve.

After getting in an accident back in 2014, I went thru a few different Doctor's and Dr. Epperson was the first to really sit down and talk to me and my Wife about our options. Every time I've seen him he comes across as genuine and really takes his time to take care of you. Can't thank him enough for all the pain relief he's given me.

My mother has been suffering from severe back, neck, and knee pain for the past three years. She is no longer able to drive, and her symptoms make it very difficult to walk. We have visited with quite a few physicians, and their first response was to go the surgery route. We were heading down that direction until a friend of mine recommended that we meet with Dr. Epperson for his professional opinion.
We are glad we did! Dr. Epperson spent time learning about my mother's symptoms, evaluating her charts, and really cared about her well being as a patient. Dr. Epperson through his diagnosis let us know that surgery could be avoided. He recommended that my mother's symptoms could be treated using Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for her arthritic back, joint pain, and knee. We went ahead with the RFA procedures, and the results have been impressive. My mother is now walking, and her back and joint pain has been drastically reduced vs. where she was a few weeks back.
I wanted to send my appreciation to Dr. Epperson, and his amazing staff for giving my mother her quality of life back. Thanks again!

RONALD S.
